Safeguarding Briefings

Details of forthcoming safeguarding briefings are shown below.  All staff and volunteers are welcome to attend briefings, no prior training is required.

ESCAPE - Parenting Support Service 

Friday 19 October, 15:00 - 16:30, Brian Jackson Centre, Huddersfield 

Speaker: Claire Hellawell.  This briefing will introduce the Parenting Support Service's ESCAPE project which offers support re parenting teenagers. 

PREVENT: Safeguarding children & young people from extremism 

Friday 23 November, 15:00 - 16:30, Brian Jackson Centre, Huddersfield

Speaker: Anayat Mohammed, Community Cohesion Officer.  This briefing will explore the signs and indicators of children and young people being exposed to extremist views and radicalisation.

Speaker: UK Boarder Agency. Overview of processes and issues in relation to unaccompanied asylum seekers and wider issues relating to asylum-seeking and immigration and its impact on children and young people.
