Understanding Parental Learning Disability: Engaging Effectively and Managing the Risk
Aim:
To increase practitioners' knowledge and skills in safeguarding the children of parents with a learning disability.
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of the course participants will:
- Be able to effectively assess and manage the risk to children when parental learning disability is a factor
- Understand your role and responsibilities and develop your engagement skills
- Understand the value of collaborative working where learning disability is a factor for parents
- Have increased knowledge of local resources that are available to assist professionals who are working with parental learning disability (including the new Kirklees Protocol)
