Safeguarding the Disabled Child
Aim:
This course aims to reflect on the increased vulnerability of disabled children to abuse. It challenges some of the myths and stereotypes around disability and abuse and explores how to better protect disabled children.
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of the course participants will:
- Understand how disabilities may make children vulnerable to abuse
- Have increased skills in recognising the warning signs of abuse
- Have a greater understanding of how different agencies can work together with children with disabilities.
- Have increased knowledge of local services, practice and procedures
