Improving Assessment and Engagement Skills

Aim:

To enable practitioners to carry out improved, analytical assessments and increase skills in engaging with hostile and resistant families.

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of the course participants will:

• Have reflected on their current assessment practice
• Have learnt the value and use of evidence based practice
• Have considered the concept of professional judgement
• Identified reasons for reluctant and resistant participation
• Improved skills in engaging resistant families
• Have been introduced to tools to aid analysis, understanding and engagement
